Where To Pick Strawberries In The GTA
Summer time is strawberry time! Pick-your-own season starts in mid to late June with the most eagerly anticipated fruit, fresh strawberries. Now there may not be an abundance of strawberry fields in downtown Toronto but a short dive outside of the city can bring you to fields of strawberries ready for the picking.

Here's our picks for the best strawberry fields in the GTA!


Downey's Farm Market

Downey's Farm Market, which is just north of Brampton, invites visitors to pick their own strawberries beginning at the end of June. Their market is open daily and is filled with baked goods, jams, jellies, gifts and fruit winery. Kids will love the farm and have a blast seeing and petting the different farm animals.

What began as a roadside market has turned into one of the GTA’s favored pick your own markets year round. Pingle’s Farm Market thrives in the summer and visitors can purchase fresh strawberries from the farm market store daily or head out to the fields and pick their own.

The Springridge family farm is open daily throughout the summer and is a lovely spot to head out to for an afternoon of picking strawberries. If you aren’t in the mood to pick your own ready picked strawberries are readily available in the barn market… you can also pick up tasty pies, and treats there as well.

Whittamore's Farm is a large fruit and vegetable farm nestled beside the Rouge River Valley in Markham. This summer marks the farms 50th anniversary in the pick-your-own business and trust us they know their stuff. The pick-your-own pricing is reasonable at $1.75/lb. Visitors have fun in the fields a pick your own strawberries (as well as raspberries and vegetables) to take home and enjoy. The farm is open seven days a week including holidays for picking from mid-June until Halloween.
