The always entertaining and flamboyant songstress Celine Dion is bracing the massive Air Canada Centre stage at the end of the month. Dion is in the midst of an intense world tour in support of her current English album, Taking Chances.

Dion is a staple of Canadian culture and has truly mastered the art of performance. Her lavish show down south at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas ran for 5 years and earned her hundreds of millions. Her Vegas production reinvented the way an artist can define a 'concert' going experience. Dion put on a show every evening that was greater in scale than a Broadway musical; she would brace the stage engulfed within stage ornaments and special effects that mirrored Cirque du Soleil.

And even though Dion's present concert tour is a toned down version of what appeared in Nevada, you should still expect to see Dion thread the essential theatrical elements of song, dance, and story together in her typical French Canadian - Celine Dion - way. You may think this is a little bit over the top, however, could you really expect anything else from the personality who has sold over 200 million records worldwide.

And by the current released data on ticket sales for the Taking Chances Tour, the crowds match the production in scale. Dion is performing in over 120 dates, filling stadiums and hockey arenas across five continents.

And whether you appreciate Dion's pop tunes, quirky personality, or extravagant ways there is no denying this woman has perseverance and longevity. She is a successful power broker in the world of popular music and she does not appear to be going anywhere.

Dion plays a two night stint at the Air Canada Centre on August 27th and 28th.
